Numbers are probably the most important element in a game of Cachito, mainly because it is a game centered on dice. The dice used are the typical ones used in most common games and are thus six sided, with the numbers 1 through to six presented on the die’s interface. Because Cachito originated in South America, it is only natural that most of terminology used will be in the Spanish language, however players need not be fluent Spanish speakers to enjoy Cachito. Cachito Number Terminologies
Number 1 on the Die: This is known as ‘as’ or ‘ases’ (plural). The ‘as’ refers to what is known as an ace in English and acts as a Joker in the game of Cachito. Special rules apply to as announcements during a game.
Number 2 on the Die: The number two is called three different names during a game of Cachito. It is known either as ‘tonto’ (‘tontos’ – plural); ‘don’ (‘dones’ – plural) or ‘pato’ (‘patos’ – plural).
Number 3 on the Die: This is known as ‘tren’ or ‘trenes’ (plural).
Number 4 on the Die: The number four is called three different names during a game of Cachito. It is known as either ‘cuarta’ (‘cuartas’ – plural); ‘cuarto’ (‘cuartos’ – plural) or ‘cuadra’ (‘cuadras’ – plural).
Number 5 on the Die: The number five is either known as ‘quina’ (‘quinas’ – plural) or ‘burro’ (‘burros’ – plural).
Number 6 on the Die: The number six is known either known as ‘sexta’ (‘sextas’ – plural) or ‘cena’ (‘cenas’ – plural).
